Lee Friend is an IT Professional from the United Kingdom (UK).  He has specialised in IT support and (software)/Web programming prior and during his work life.

Info

I have been using the Web (WWW) and Internet since 1994, when I was studying a Computer Science Degree (BSc) course at UEL (University of East London) in Barking, Essex, UK.

I first started using technology at 3-4 years of age (in 1977/78) by visits to the Arcades and playing on a LED space video game.  Later on I was given an Atari 2600 and a Sinclair ZX Spectrum, where I learned programming in BASIC, plus playing a lot of video games.  End of the 1980's I did get a Commodore Amiga (where I learned more BASIC), followed by my first PC, a second-hand Olivetti 386sx-16mhz, back in 1992.  I started learning HTML in 1994, hosting my first website on UEL's web server.  The early days of the Web and the Internet was a big factor for me in deciding to work in IT professionally.  My first IT job was as a Junior IT Administrator back in 1996 administrating Windows NT, UNIX and Novell servers.  My work lead me to mainly using and supporting Microsoft O/S's and software.  Up until now, it's been 29 years in a career in IT, full of adventures.

Today, I work remotely and occasionally hybrid, in broad and varied IT roles for nonprofits in the UK
.  I have recently been using the Python programming language, and improving my Linux skills.

Teresa-Ling Friend my wife is a Business Analyst.  We first met at UEL in 1995 and got married in 1998.
